A little bit of luck in finding this old Studebaker truck in the middle of this farm field. The setting sunlight was just wonderful as both a light source for the truck and the background hills.

Technique And Composition:

Sometimes you just trip across them, and this was one of those times.

On a recent scouting trip for our upcoming Columbus River Gorge workshop, we happened to drive off down this road to a windmill. The windmill just wasn’t sitting quite right, but the truck in the distance sure looked like it was. As fast as we could we ventured further into the surrounding farm fields.

Racing the setting light, I angled myself so that the truck bed pulls the viewer’s eye in from the corner out into the fields beyond.
