Coming Home

From our Acadia National Park workshop. Our participants really liked this location, as many felt that it had strong leading lines to be worked in the final image.

Technique And Composition:

This framing is a little traditional and a little outside the box as well.

There are three (3) divisions to the frame both horizontally and vertically, though they are not exact thirds. Sometimes this is the way an image breaks up, based upon the position you can achieve relative to the scene. Don’t be afraid to look for the natural divides in an image and use them.

There is also an implied diagonal across the scene, and I feel that’s an excellent guide for the viewer’s eye.
