Windy City Time – Chicago Street Shoot Workshop

June 22nd, 2017 – June 25th, 2017

The City of Chicago as it’s officially none, often simply referred to as Chicago, is the third most populous city in the United States. Boasting over 2.7 million residents, it is the most populous city in the State of Illinois and the Midwestern United States. Serving as the county seat of Cook County, the Chicago metropolitan area, often referred to as Chicagoland, clocks in at nearly 10 million people overall.

Officially incorporate as a city in 1837, Chicago initially served as a portage between the Great Lakes and the Mississippi watershed. Experiencing rapid growth in the mid-nineteenth century and ultimately holds significant sway on the international stage as a finance, commerce, industrial, technology, telecommunications and transportation power-house. Home to O’Hare International Airport, which ranks as the second busiest airport in the world (measured by aircraft traffic), Chicago serves as a transportation hub to the vast majority of the United States and secondarily to the world. Regionally Chicago, ranks as a leader in U.S. Highways as well as rail road freight tonnage.

Proudly describing itself as a strong, diverse economic power house, Chicago reports that no single business segment in the city contains more than 14% of the workforce, allowing the city to easily weather financial and industry change. Globally Chicago ranks 7th in the world, according to the 2014 Global Cities Index.

By recent estimates, in 2016 Chicago hosted over 54 million domestic and international visitors combined. The city plays host to professional sporting teams in each of the major professional leagues. Additionally Chicago is known for its visual arts, film, theater, comedy and music scene. Host of many world class universities, notable in the list being Northwestern, the University of Chicago and University of Illinois at Chicago.

Often referred to as the Windy City, Chicago offers a unique blend of dense population, urban sprawl and lakefront living all rolled into one.
