I thought the sense of scale here was interesting, so I chose to capture this frame. From our recent scouting trip to Palouse, WA. Looks like a killer workshop location.

EXPOSURE SETTING:

ISO 800, 1/2000 (+1.3) @ f/16.0 – 53mm

Technique And Composition:

Having just finished an article on layering landscape compositions, I thought this image was interesting in that it broke all the guidelines I just laid out.

I feel it is anchored well in the corners and has a nice central line to focus the viewer’s eye. However, the sense of scale is hard to determine here.

I think the lack of a foreground object makes it hard to determine the size of the scene, but I do like that aspect of the image.
