“Don’t Steel It”

The Alcoa building in Pittsburgh has some amazingly cool lines to it. No matter how nicely we asked, we just couldn’t get inside…some day!

Immediately upon seeing this building I knew I had to capture an image of it, the lines, curves and shapes were calling out to be captured.

It took some time, walking around the outside of the building, to find the composition I wanted. Ultimately I decided to feature the length of the building as a diagonal line in the frame, and this really extended the curve for me.

The skies were very dramatic that day and I felt a single image tone map really brought out the ominous look of the clouds in the final edit.
