A Shot A Day – 2016 (03/06/2016)
Normally when I hear the word paneling, my mind goes into interior design horror mode, as I have visions of dark family rooms with faux wood paneling encasing the occupants. These panels are quite another story and offer great patterns and colors to capture.

There were a few factors in my head when composing this image. One, the surface treatment of the materials in the image left some specular highlights, so I had to consider my position relative to the room lighting to eliminate as much of that as possible. Two, the scene metered a little high, so the camera took the exposure down below where I would have liked it to have been, I added +1 stop of exposure compensation to offset that. Third, I wanted as little noise as possible in this image, so I lowered my ISO and that resulted in a pretty low shutter speed, which I counterbalanced with image stabilization to make that speed work.
